Chichester MT Degree - monologue

Post by moleseymum »

Chichester have asked for a monologue that is 'appropriate to the musical theatre art form' and that has stumped me! Any ideas as to how to interpret that or is anybody that has auditioned willing to share what they chose?

We chose one from a musical, but I would just interpret it as something quite upbeat rather than too deep and dramatic. They didn't actually hear them at my dds audition, much to her annoyance, and just did a workshop, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

My dd has recently done her audition at Chichester. She didn't actually have to perform her monologue which she found out the night before the audition from a friend. Annoying, as she worked hard on it but it did take the pressure off a bit! They just did an improvisation workshop, which she really enjoyed! I would recommended taking a monologue just in case (apparently they can ask for it if they feel they haven't seen enough in the improv.) but I wouldn't worry too much about where its from considering they probably won't see it!
Good luck! x

Thank you for your replies. DS had his audition today, he didn't have to perform his either!
First one out of the way and he came out happy :)
