Agents fee

Post by Sprinklesparkles »

Hi i'm new here :)

I have been approached by a local talent agency after seeing my daughter perform in a show, they would like to sign her up. I know they are professional and have a good reputation as I have a friend who's child is signed to them and they have had a lot of TV and modelling work come out of it. They don't charge any fees up front but I am wondering what is the usual percentage agents charge for commission? is there a standard fee or do they vary? I just want to know if their rates are fair.

Thank you in advance

Most acting agencies charge between 10 and 15 % plus VAT on TV, film and theatre work. Modelling and commercials agencies charge up to 25% plus VAT.

Admin fee? Never pay to join an agency, unless they defer the payment and deduct it from the first fee. Agencies make money out of you, and unless they can market you, they should not take you on, so any admin expenses should come out of their commission percentage. Charging to maybe not give you work is a very suspicious business practice!
