Bird college vs urdang
Hi everyone I am 16 years old and I have recently auditioned for vocational schools to pursue my dance career. I have got dada offers at Bird and Urdang and I have no idea which one to choose! Urdang is best on location but I don't know which is best on training although I do love urdang! Help please! Thanks guys xxx

Well done to you - two Dadas is fantastic and I'm sure you will do well wherever you go
My dd will be auditioning for entry next year 2014 and will be 16. Have you done opens days and end of year shows? We did shows this Summer - loved them all think you need to go with gut feeling, personally think Urdang very strong dance/commercial and Bird/Laine bit stronger with MT?
Good luck with your decision, what an enviable position to be in to have 2 to choose from

Both excellent highly regarded courses. So the best advice is go with your gut - my DD was in a similar position 3 years ago. She thought she'd chosen one place, went to bed, woke up the following morning and felt that decision had been wrong. Her "gut" told her that so she followed it up and changed her mind. Luckily she had not notified any of the colleges
£ years later she has graduated and feels she made the right choice

The highway's jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive.

Congratulations - 2 Dadas is brilliant and both colleges are excellent with great reputations.
I agree with the others - go with your gut feel. How did you feel at your auditions? Where do you feel suited, fitted you best? You'll get amazing training at both colleges. While you were waiting to find out about your DaDas where did you imagine / really hope to be?
I can only speak from the experience of my DS who starts in September - he has absolutely followed his gut - (backed up by seeing graduate shows/ Move It etc). To him, it was clear from the audition process where he felt suited him best.
Lots of luck with your decision - but be assured with Birds and Urdang as your choices you can't go wrong

Wow, what a wonderful dilemma to have! Well done!
My dd has a brilliant mt teacher who is also in strong demand for choreographing shows for other organisations around the region. She went to bird a few years ago and appears to be very busy with work. That's not to say it's the best of the two, just to say it has been good for her.

Well done how exciting
I thought they only offered Dada's for 18 plus degree course.

Re: Bird college vs urdang
Hi Bruno - if you check here (http://www.theurdangacademy.com/wp-cont ... ersion.pdf) you can see that the DADAs are only available for level 6 BTECs
Generally (I understand) degree courses are funded by student loans like 'ordinary' university courses - although often there can be a top up which is not covered by the maximums on that scheme
I'm not an expert so if I have this information wrong I am happy for anyone to correct me

If you look on you-tube you should be able to see the stuff they did for Move-it; both colleges were there
