Andrew Lloyd Webber Scholarship 2013 SYTS AUDITION

Post by SNN »

I got an audition for a scholarship for SYTS and I need to prepare a dance but I don't take lessons.
I used to do ballet and hip hop but I am best at hip hop.
The major crisis here is that I don't have a routine to use.
Would it be naughty if I took a routine from the Internet?
Or should I try to remember an old one?
Or should I try to make one up?
Any other tips for the audition are welcome!

It would be fine to use choreography from youtube etc, keep it simple and effective and don't try anything too hard!
good luck :)

I've managed to find a really fun dance to Party Rock Anthem that's easy but effective.
Thanks Jooles! :D

I've come across another problem!
I can't find a good backing track to my chosen song ('Ben' Michael Jackson) because I've modified the song to fit the 2 minute limit.
Some people say that you should NEVER sing a Capella but I'm starting to feel as if its the best option!
Would it really be dreadful if I sang my song a capella?

We usually edit backing tracks down to audition length using a digital audio editor. It's not difficult and there are some that can be used free of charge on the Internet.

Good luck
