STUDENT FILMS

Post by Genevieve »

Is it worth putting student films that are part of school media projects on your dcs c.v.s ? even if they are just for A Level projects and not for students of film courses at Universities
and does anyone put a link to the student films they've been in on any site eg. mandy , contained within their emails , say for online audition applications for things on here or that they find else ?

My dd hasn't done A level student films but has done plenty for university students. I always put a link to her web site on the applications, then it's up to them if they look at them. I know she has had plenty of auditions/castings bacause of them as they often reference them, sometimes commenting on the genre, her hair style, clothes etc in particular show reels.
When writing out CVs people usually put school plays in their list of credits so why not films for schools (if it's of good enough quality)! It's all experience and it will show prospective cds what they are capable of, their look and the main fact, that they are comfortable in front of the camera and can follow direction.

My DD doesn't put any school films/plays on her CV now. She does list university student films though.

I think it depends on how many other credits you have. I used to put all dds credits on her profile and only uploaded the best ones as show reels. As dd has done several professional roles now, I haven't put her most recent stagecoach and school plays on. But if you do not have any professional credits then it may be good to have some credits/show reels on your profile.
