PM Problem! (No not Mr C!)

Sorry if I'm being really dense but I have a new message apparently and the site is telling me to "release the on-hold" messages. Although I don't use the PM system very often I am obviously not doing it right because I had LOADS of repeated messages taking up 3 pages. Against my better judgemeent I've deleted them and it's made no difference!!!! I still can't get my new message

Can someone please explain (In words on one syllable ) what I need to do. Thank you

I think when the site moved all our old deleted messages came back! I had to delete all the messages in my inbox and then release the on hold messages! that worked for me.

Had same problem but wouldnt clear until I closed it and restarted
