Cardenio - RSC Swan Theatre Stratford

Post by pg »

Shakespeare's "lost" play? Possibly ;)

I'm not convinced that Shakespeare had all that much to do with it, but it was a cracking good show. The Swan theatre is a great venue and I'd splashed out on good seats so we were practically on stage with the actors. I was enthralled throughout - it was tremendous ensemble playing with an electrifying performance by Alex Hassell as the villain Fernando.

My ds was brilliant ;) . I was a very proud Mum and can't wait for the understudy run where he gets to play the title role.
I'd recommend it to anyone: the acting was excellent, the design was wonderful, the fights were thrilling, the music and singing was great and there were some gorgeous frocks!
