lack of auditions?

I'm not sure about everyone else, but I personally feel that there is a lack of auditions at the moment? I have not had one in a while, and even friends of mine on different agencys agree that we have not heard of any new projects recently. Is anyone else finding the same, as usually I find the New Year is the busiest time of year?

we are not with any agency and find all our opportunities via networking ,

audition schedule is flat out

perhaps the industry is changing, too many agencies touting business seems to be showing a reaction through castings via non-agency just a thought?

There are a lot of none payment student films about at the moment as they are getting ready for there graduation but apart from that ds has only had a film and advert audition in the last few weeks. Its usaly very quite this time of year and picks up end of March.

I am with Sxox on this one. I have one in full time theatre school with their own agency and another with an equally reputable agency. Dd has done one audition and one piece of work since last September and ds has had one audition where everyboy about his age turned up. I also do look around various sites to see what else is being advertised and have seen plenty of "low pay" "no pay" stuff advertised but nothing that would justify a day off school and all the expenses I would incur.

We haven't had a single audition since last March despite having an agent and only Starnow has provided even unpaid opportunities for older dd to sing. I am convinced that is all about who you know - but how do you network if you don't know anyone???

Well I'd have said the same...we've had hardly anything from Spotlight since September. Until Tonight!! DDs agent has just had a load of casting requests....so we've been put forward for a job lot! Not that that means a great deal.....other than maybe things are picking up a bit?

I agree, after the Summer I was getting lots of auditions but I haven't had any since November. I guess a lot of stuff has started filming in the New Year so everthing finished casting before Xmas. But I'm sure it'll pick up soon :)
