I haven't had an email back from an agency yet, but I have a few in mind. I emailed Sylvia Young, and they said they'd reply if I was successful later on, but I don't know whether to go ahead and apply for any more while I'm waiting. What do you think? It's just if I get an audition for Sylvia Young and shortly after I get another for another agency and one offers me a place, then it would be kind of embarrassing to say I'm already with an agency if you see what I mean?! I would be open to any advice or views on this matter! Thank you (:

I think applying to agencies is very much like applying for jobs. No-one expects you to wait for a reply before applying to another. Most actors would apply to several agents (perhaps scores of agents) at the same time. It's such a competitive field that you need to spread the net quite widely. You are assessing the suitability of the agency as well as the agent assessing whether they want to take you on to their books. If an actor is in demand it is quite common for an actor to go to 2 or 3 meetings with agents and then decide which agency would suit them best.

If you do get a reply from an agent and then they take you on, you can simply explain to any other agents who offer to meet you that you now have representation. It really wouldn't be a problem.
