I'm sure you left something out of your post there, Holland park - "in my opinion". Clearly not one shared my millions of people. But even you cannot argue with the longevity of his voice despite intensive use over the years.
Seriously, get your hearing checked mate

Just to add another alternative alternative! Sage leaves made into tea (dried or fresh or bought in t -bags from health food shops/medical herbalist) really works(I was sceptical) for DH who lectures and is prone to loosing his voice I sweeten with manuka honey to make drinkable and not taste like sage and onion stuffing!
I had trouble too. I got them
in the pharmacy at our local Tesco superstore.
I got an extra box and my son hates the taste so if you can't get them let me
know and i will post them to you
My Dd has started using manuka lozenges and she says they are great. She can't get them in London but down here they are in boots. Expensive but ther is usually a 3 for 2 offer on - have benn sending her supplies of them
I have even found manuka energy bars in Holland and Barrett

Oh no, she has burnt the candle at both ends. Bet she is worried now. Poor ting. I guess in future she has to decide which candle she is going to burn and let the choice be hers - sleepovers or performance. Hope she got her voice back!
Just bumping this thread as DS opens in a show in just over a week, and has another singing casting this Sunday for a different show, and I think he is going down with the cold I currebtly have which has left me entirely without a voice.
We have vocalzones, and I am about to try some of the tips above. Any other ideas? Anything that works to circumvent a not quite here cold/sore throat?
Oh it’s horrible when it happens. My ds had a school of rock recall & after a week in another show came down with cold & completely lost his voice on the day of the audition. Sandersons throat specific was recommended to us but depends on child’s age and capacity to suffer absolutely disgusting stuff! I’d say no talking even whispering. Good luck
