Film audition

Post by Soymama »

Hello everyone

My son had an audition last week for a film role - does anyone know how long it takes for someone to come back to us with a yay or nay. Or if they'll come back at all. The audition was five days ago.

Thanks

xx

Sadly (and infuriatingly) it is very common in this business to hear nothing at all if it's a "no". If you know the shoot dates, the only way to be fairly certain about the yes or no is if the shoot date has been and gone and you have heard nothing :( .

Was this via an agent? If so, you could always ask your agent whether you are likely to hear a yes or no - some Casting Directors are good about this kind of thing and your agent might know whether you are likely to hear from this particular CD.

Thanks for that.

Guess we'll just have to get used to trying to forget about the audition once it's over. It's hard though... He had a video audition last year for a big film - everyday after school he kept asking if there was any news... obviously there wasn't. This time he did a video audition and was then invited to audition in front of the casting director - so I suppose we're getting closer...

Best to forget it until the next one though

He got it via an agency so if I get any more desperate to know I could harrass them for info!!!!! Though I do try not to call too often for fear of being labelled 'a paranoid mum'!!!

Thanks for replying
