Performers College BTEC Course

Post by Clairecm1076 »

Hi, can anyone tell me if the BTEC at Performers is full time training? I have read somewhere that it is only 18.5 hours training per week which seems a lot less than other places.

Any advice much appreciated as DD looking at places to apply for Sept 22 entry

I can highly recommend Emil Dale. It’s 5 full days, excellent training. Obviously, there is a cost element to cover the additional hours - you get what you pay for. The college are also helping them with their auditions for degree courses.

There website states 18.5 hours (its not the Btec its the RSL diploma) which is fairly standard for state funded Btec/UAL/RSL courses. Usually colleges that offer more hours charge top up fees for those hours. Its about 3.5 days per week.

The ESFA fund up to 600 study hours per academic year per student at a rate of £4,188. In addition performing arts vocations courses have a 1.2 uplift and there are also area specific/retention uplifts. How many hours per week this covers depends on how many weeks there are in a term.

With VAT the extra fees for Emil Dale come to £4,200 per year and they say that covers an extra 15-20 hours per week.
