how to ask my agent?

Hi everyone was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice!

I have a pretty good relationship with my agent, but I try not too email them too often for small questions as I realise of course how busy they are.

Next year I will turn 19, meaning I'll be too old to be represented by their young performers section. is it normal practice for agents to automatically represent their clients in the adult section of their agency once they become old enough? or is it unlikely that they'll want to, as they represent less adults than teens.

I was just hoping to work out what the normal protocol is before I email my agent - and whether I should straight out ask them for adult representation?

Many thanks!

I would guess you have to ask them , and they would consider you the same way the would consider anyone else applying straight to their adult agency? but im not sure really sorry!

I'd assume they will keep on representing you as in this business it's very important to know your client inside out and have a strong bond with him / her.
Unless your contract says they'll review it after you turn 19, you should be fine and stay on their books.

Don't be afraid to ask though, good agents don't bite ;)

I agree - I think you just need an honest conversation with them.

I did see on another thread though that young performers on spotlight can be up to 21, depending on playing age. So perhasp you could check that first?
