Hi everyone,
Couple of castings posted today on NYT. Not right for my DS but may suit yours. Its an open casting and you don't need to be a member of NYT to apply.
Opportunity: CASTING FOR THE LEAD PART in a Film London commissioned short film.
Japanese Samurai Sword has been commissioned by FILM LONDON under the London Calling Plus scheme 2015.
Role: THAO (16 to 18) - Lead part. Male. Authentic London accent a must. Vietnamese. A witty & sensitive observer of the world around him, who goes through a coming-of-age when forced to make a decision about his allegiance to his brother’s gang when facing with his first Triad challenge. Thao loves his parents but is embarrassed by their lack of westernisation.
Details: The story is a dark humour drama that explores the diaspora of British-Born Vietnamese and Chinese Triad gang culture in London. Set in Catford, it follows 16-year old THAO as he is drawn into his older brother's gang. However, when asked to go on his first hit with a Samurai Sword, he begins to doubt his allegiance.
The film is of low budget, and the national minimum wage is being paid for the production days. The film is however a very professional shoot, with an incredibly experienced & talented HoD & crew.
It will be a 5 days shoot on 10/11/12/13/14 June. It will be shot in South East London around Lewisham & Catford.
Who can apply: Anyone who fits the criterias of the part.
How to apply: Please email your CV, Headshots, Showreel (if you have) to shortfilmjss@gmail.com
Deadline: Please send your details as soon as possible of interested.
