I've started my new spreadsheet/Audition survival guide

My spreadsheet is started with all the audition information in it

Please add hints & tips to this thread so new parents/students know what to expect (well only if you want to; I'm not being bossy! #-o )

It's scary to think she will be off by herself this year, I'm unlikely to be needed at all

Last year the Audition master pack I did enabled her to produce an unprepared for solo for a college that suddenly requested one, so I strongly advise a spare set of CD's & extra sheet music (DD carried one in her handbag & one in her kit bag) just in case

She auditioned early last year & this year the advise has been to audition later......but when is later?

She has completed 4 out of 5 application forms & now we wait for photos & references from the pre-voc

Good luck Katy - to you and your dd! I'm guessing "later" audition means post xmas and will ensure she gets the most benefit from Pre-Voc before her audition? She will know what to expect this year so hopefully that will give her confidence too - will she be doing colleges from last year - any new ones? Fingers crossed she will end up at her dream college with a Dada - will watch with interest :) xxx

Thanks Sue,

We are thinking: Performers (obviously), Urdang, Bird (all suggested by the college) - Masters & The Centre (suggested by the college as backup, we hadn't really looked at them before as they don't have a DaDA) & we haven't really decided about Millennium yet

She is being more adventurous with her song choices & getting more help with her monologues - but she is also considering 'dance' more this year rather than just MT

& the 'what do I wear' question is being considered more deeply too ;)

I'm so glad my DD isn't ready for this yet - makes me feel sick even thinking about it.

Best of luck xx
