When my dd had to learn a monologue for the agent's audition she just got out from the shelves one book she did like and learn a page (was a kind of diary, can't remember, one for girls). I know that lots of people get something from Roal Dahl. The good thing is that doesn't matter if she is not very precise with the words as long she shows confidence in delivering the lines.
