Urdang accommodation?

Hi everyone.
I realise I'm jumping the gun a bit on this because my DD has a recall for Urdang and depending on the outcome of that will depend whether Urdang will be her preferred choice. But has anyone got any information about where Urdang students live? I'm sure we will get the info from Urdang at some point but I would really like to look in to it as I think it's all part of the decision making really. Anyone with any information I would be very grateful. Thank you

hi - the 2nd year student who showed us around said quite a lot of the first years use a couple of hostels nearby that are quite nice

As you said I'm sure they will give more info out and I'm sure plenty of people on here will have better advice than that

Thanks Suesmith. Yes hostels were mentioned to us too. I wish now I'd asked what they were called. Maybe someone on here will know. But thank you

My DD has been offered a place on the diploma, we have a copy of the list and it looks like she will have to stay in a hostel is she chooses to go there!

Is that because of cost, distance or availability? (if you don't mind me asking)

From what I can see on the list it's all their is available. She wants to live with a landlady but there doesn't seem to be this option and I have spoken to them and they don't advise it as they say she would be very isolated as most students live in one of the hostels. When I say hostels they are very posh hostels not like the old style YMCA!! Not sure what to do tbh, hoping that she she chooses one of the other colleges outside of London that offer the facility of living with a landlady.

Are the hostels very expensive?
Last year my dd stayed with a family friend (in Waterloo) which was extremely handy and cheap!
But when she did the week pre audition course she stayed with a lady in Golders Green who had lots of students staying. I got her number from Urdang. She fed the kids and kept an eye on them. Dd said she was very nice and if she had chosen Urdang this year thats where she would have lived.
