House share in East London

Okay....this is not strictly about a performing dd but everyone on here is so helpful with a wealth of knowledge and good ideas that I thought I'd ask anyway!

My eldest non dd is 27 and has been working in London for the last 4 years. Her most recent landlord sold the flat she was sharing a couple of months ago so she put her stuff into storage and has been in living in a variety of short term lets ever since.

She is desperate to settle in a long term let but as you may know the London rental market is a cut throat business. Despite numerous viewings, having her profile on gum tree, attending speed flat hunting events (yes like speed dating but for flat /house shares!) she has drawn a blank. Part of the difficulty is that she wants a furnished room in the £500-600 price range that seems to be the most popular and competitive price bracket.

Does anyone have any contacts, bright ideas of what else she can do or a spare furnished double room in Hackney for a non-smoking, house trained professional young woman ?!?

Seriously though she is getting quite despondent now and is even talking about coming back up north. She has an amzing job, loves the city life and I know this isn't what she really wants to do.

Thanks everyone :)

I'm assuming youv'e tried easyroommate.com and spareroom.com?What about guardianship? There are some excellent spaces to be had,and I think the only main restriction is that you have to be child free.Good luck x

notice boards in local colleges and unis - especially in Barts and the London school of nursing...that's the area she wants and there are usually loads of people wanting to share...
most nurses are pretty tidy :-)
