I happened to stumble upon the Islington borough events website and they're doing so many things for kids and teens for free there (and you don't have to live in Islington either).

I've been to two theatre workshops at the Almeida Theatre that were on the site (Well worth checking out Young Friends of the Almeida, I joined them and you get free workshops and get into every performance for £5) Almeida have mostly fringe theatre and we got to work with theatre companies from around the world- met lots of interesting people & a great experience!
And if you go back on the event menu home and flick through the other events there are so many other things like free sports, film making workshops, roller skating etc. At first I thought it was too good to be true
