the chap who did this is excellent, very quick to reply, make amendments etc and reasonable rates, if you don't have a great deal of footage (or any at all) he can record you in his studio. He has different rates depending what you want. This only cost me £50 for putting her clips together, I really love the opening and how he finishes it.

An amazing price, and he'll not have made anything on that one at all! I know for a fact that to get that into the machine and out again, let alone the edit time means he's working for less than minimum wage, if you convert the £50 to hours. You got an excellent deal. Realistically, start to finish, it's a days work.

I did ask if I could put his details on here - he wasn't doing us a favour or mates rates, that is how much he quoted for putting together material we already had in a show reel format.
I watched someone else's show reel and liked the way it was presented so I looked the creator up on the internet then approached them. They didn't charge up front and only asked for the payment once I was completely satisfied, I even sent some new stuff when it arrived after he had started editing, which he incorporated. He offers all sorts of packages, one of which I thought was an excellent idea for people who don't have much footage, you can share the cost by getting him to record scenes with a friend and then you both using it in individual show reels!

can I suggest that if your dc does a student film, you start asking for your copy BEFORE the end of term, as they often close their university e-mail address once they finish and then you loose contact!

Wow she is very talented! And I love the way the showreel is done.

Could I ask, how many different clips do people think you need to make a good showreel? I appreciate that more allows you to show greater versatility, but what's a good starting number?
