Hi,
my daughter's been with Mark Jermin Stage School since September and has joined spotlight and the agency since January. I've become a bit worried about it- it's £100ish per month at the School so I've spent £300 so far. I'm just a bit worried because I'm not sure how long it normally takes until you normally get your first audition especially seeing how they have about 1000 signed with them and on spotlight + the fact that you have to go to the Stage School (and pay) to get into the agency.

I was wondering should i keep them in for a bit longer and see if they get anything and maybe move them if nothing happens? Hope someone answers I need help! Thanks! x

I thought you could be part of the agency without being part of their stage school? My son was offered representation by them but we didn't have to go to the school. Perhaps it's changed since then?

I think they're quite a good agency and they certainly put a lot of good kids forward and land a lot of major parts.

I'm not sure there is an easy answer for you. You could ask for a list of things your child has been put forward for - sometimes despite being out forward for lots of work, it's ultimately the Employer/client/ casting director that picks the children they want to see. Sometimes it's just a matter of the roles available and the type of child they have in mind.

Some children don't do any stage classes but still do really well and land lots of roles, and sometimes it's children that have a high standard of ballet/tap/singing as they are talented but also supported by the money parents spend on additional lessons.

For me, I'd just make sure your child is having fun and wait a little longer as it doesn't sound like you've been with them long.

I'd phone them and ask if the terms and conditions of representation are that you have to be actively participating in the Stage School classes, as that's a huge financial commitment isn't it. Particularly as previous post by Cat_Kat0 says they weren't required to attend the school to be represented by them ! especially as they're haven't been any auditions your dd's been put forward for
