They have just tweeted that the show will go ahead tonight. Surely there will have to be a few tweaks to the lyrics though? :shock:

Very True.
I am, for the record, very anti - Thatcher and old enough to have supported the miners' strike etc. However, perhaps, just today, the lyrics to Merry Christmas Maggie Thatcher might feel inappropriate? :-k
Not sure. Glad it isn't my decision.

According to twitter - they asked the audience to vote and the audience decided to keep all Thatcher references and the song in

When my dd hear on the radio yesterday she said 'Isn't she the one out of Billy Elliot' - she thought she was a made up character and that the actress had passed away!

A fried of mine was there last night he snapped up a ticket at bargain price for the experience !
He said there was a bit of heckling during the song but the audience overwhelmingly voted for the show to be as normal
I agree!
It's a piece of history and she was really no friend of the Arts was she!!

master m saw about the vote too - and no - she was no friend of the arts - or many other groups

if you ever want to know how she lied through her teeth about the economics of mine closures - feel free to ask btw - i was working as a mangemt accountant in the city at the time :(
