WEST END Workshops at SOTE Birmingham.

Post by sotebirmingham »

The School of Theatre Excellence is thrilled to announce that on 12th May SOTE students will have a West End Workshop of the hit WEST END Musical of Matilda taken by an original cast member. Revolting Children (a song from show!) will be the theme with students being taught the original Choreography and Music and more. As this is such a fantastic opportunity the School of Theatre Excellence has opened up a number of spaces to non SOTE students. Matilda has taken Broadway by storm and soon to take SOTE students and others.

If you would like to be considered for a place on our MATILDA workshop please email marcus@sotebirmingham.co.uk or call Chris Sheils on 07739 904318 ASAP!

This weekend we have our launch and FREE TASTER SESSION of BILLY ELLIOT taken by original cast member Damien Delaney who is now part of the current audition team. For more information about the School of Theatre Excellence please visit http://www.sotebirmingham.co.uk.

The School of Theatre Excellence is thrilled to offer talented focused individuals hands on West End training and workshop experience. Our other planned workshops are Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, A Chorus Line and Singin' in the Rain. All taken by cast members and clients of Chris Sheils Director of The School of Theatre Excellence. Please visit the Agency website http://www.christopherantony.co.uk.

We look forward to hearing from you.

The School of Theatre Excellence was established in Birmingham in 2010. We currently run classes in Musical Theatre on a Sunday morning. The day is a four hour session & consists of an hour of Ballet, acting, Jazz and singing classes with one to one singing lessons and performance class.

We're now ready to expand the school with more classes on a Saturday morning. SOTE Saturday will be a three hour session consisting of Musical Theatre training in Jazz, acting & singing. To Launch SOTE Saturday we will be holding a free taster day on Sunday May 5th. The day will be a sample of how our day will run but will be on the theme of Billy Elliot the Musical. Students will get the opportunity to meet our teachers and fellow students and learn excerpts from the West End production of Billy Elliot the Musical. We have secured the services of Damien Delaney who was an original cast member of Billy Elliot, is now head of Dance at Chichester University and who auditions new Billy's and Ballet girls for the West End production.

Hi. I just wanted to say DS went to this Billy Elliot taster day workshop today, and really enjoyed it. It is too far for him to attend this regularly, but I would recommend it for any DC's who can join. A very impressive programme, with lots of opportunities, with experienced professionals.

Very impressed with SOTE, I especially like their ethos and the approach they take to the three disciplines. DS went to the Billy Elliot workshop last weekend and loved it! SOTE come across as very professional and enthusiastic. DS enjoyed it so much that I've booked him onto the Matilda workshop as well. And he is hoping to join SOTE for the Autumn term.

According to ds the Matilda workshop was even better than the Billy one. He had a fantastic time again at SOTE. In just a few hours they had learned the routine for 'Revolting Children' and then performed it for parents. Very impressive. =D>
