Chilli Kids v D&D v BoBe

Hello all
Could you give me your honest experience of the above three agencies please.
DC has been with CK since the beginning of October and so far only one casting. Loads of availability checks for some really interesting sounding stuff, but they don't seem to actually convert to castings.
Maybe I'm expecting too much, but looking at other agency's FB pages it looks like things are very busy for them.
I'm particularly interested in the acting side of things. Do D&D and BoBe get straight acting roles through as we'll as tvc's etc?
We live a way outside London so that restricts us in some ways.
Thanks

How far do you live outside London?
Currently BOBE only accept from the Home Counties but that may change in the future.
Also, OCtober ? You have only been with them for just over 1 month, some kids have been with agencies for a year or more with nothing coming their way, I think you need to give them a chance, it's VERY early days.

Oh, Ok, I need to sit back and be patient then. Good to have a reality check!
We're an hour and a half by train from London by the way.

We are also an hour and a half from London as well but with a rail card we don't find the distance a problem for auditions!
I know d&d do sign children who live further away from London but as Riverdancefan said....Its probably still early days,i wouldn't write chilli off just yet.
Bo Be are doing very well at the moment but they have some really amazing kids there who are very dedicated...and its the kids that get chosen for casting, the agencies
can only submit them.
I would defiantly give it a few more months and then if you still unsure do a bit of research and maybe try somewhere else xx

Great, thanks for the advice Wissymo.
Anyone else who has first hand experience with Chilli?

If you've had lots of availability checks it means your DD has been up for castings. I assume they are on Spotlight? Usually you get an availability check, the agent will sumbit your CV via Spotlight if you're available for the casting which is usually short notice and then they wait for the client to contact them if they want to see your child. It's great you've had one casting and it's also encouraging you've had lots of availability checks too. I would sit tight and review it after 6 months. It sounds to me like they are working for your dd even if the castings aren't coming in after availability checks.

For D&D i have only had acting jobs and I think they are more geared towards that (as well as commercials) rather than modelling. They really are lovely and I feel you get more of a personal interaction with them. They are always busy and seem to have lots of castings flooding in every day. They have just had the auditions but keep an eye out on their profile page for the next ones, even if its just for the experience of auditioning

Great. Thanks for that. I'll keep an eye out.
With CK they ask you if you want to be put forward for jobs (along with filming dates etc.), so in one way it's good to see what's out there. Disappointing when a casting doesn't follow it up. Still, that's part of the business and I just need to get used to it. Maybe once you've got one job under your belt you look more attractive, so we'll just hang on and hope for the best.
CK don't automatically insist you go on Spotlight, but I think I'll suggest it anyway. Must help, surely!

Hi, I know children with D&D and they certainly get work apart from background. They get the same briefs as the other agencies and if you look on their twitter you will see their kids have been confirmed for all sorts of roles, including lead and featured.
I would say B&B and D&D are probably quite similar - both good, usy agencies. I know less about Chilli so can't really say on them. x

D&D are very good, my child has been to a few very big film castings for main roles and is currently in a top west end show, so a little more than 'background' work

With Chilli Kids, things are done a little differently and the 'availability checks' are actually the casting briefs, you look at all the information, including casting and filming dates and decide if you would like your dc submitted, it doesn't mean you will get an audition, you are just telling Viv that you like the sound of that particular job, are available on suggested dates and would like your dc to be submitted. Hope that explains it.

What seems to be your problem with D&D?

I am reading behind the lines here by checking out the two agencies you mention in your past posts and the history there.. ...and pwilliams you couldn't be MORE wrong about Daisy and Dukes offering only background work..
you are coming across as incredibly biased!
I have issues with another agency over the way DS was treated - I have no respect for them but I cannot deny their successes and the fact that other kids are really happy with them !
"Horses for courses" and all that, but at least get your facts straight and don't dis on things that are simply not true, as that is just plain unfair.
