Yorkshire lass too posh

I have just had a very strange experience, my dd was on a call back (think one of only two girls for the part) in Manchester this afternoon. She went in to the room with the director, producer and writer and was asked if she remembered her lines from laast weeks audition. When she delivered them, they said that was too posh! A Yorkshire lass too posh! I've never heard that before,
They asked her to say it again but less RP, she wasn't expecting that because we were told by her agent they really liked her last week and to do it exactly the same when she went back today. She was a little thrown by their comments so she did it in her normal voice, they said that was much better and they liked that.
The initial brief said 'little girl of sounthern family - absolutely no hint of Norhern'. Now we don't know what to think. Poor DD came out very confused (she's been practising not doing flat vowel sounds all week! Grahs, cahstle, girahffe, memmy!!
