How to get started?

I've been reading the site for a while and have now decided I need help to get my dd started off on her future career. So any advice would be gratefully recieved!
My dd goes to a weekend drama school which has an agency attached and apparently we are members but we almost never get given casting info. This maybe because they specialise in Musical Theatre and she is too tall for the West End. They have a few students who regularly get work, some of which are presently in Matilda and Shrek, but apart from Billy's ballet girls (too tall)and an Open casting for a film (Broken), nothing else for her.
She dances twice a week, tap, modern and ballet and, as well as the drama school, is part of a local drama group.
She is 14 and seems to be at a difficult age for placing, but very keen to perform so I am wondering if I should go to another agent. If so, what do we need as regards audition pieces, photos etc? And who would you advise. We are close to London, but outside M25.
It is particularly hard for her at the moment as I feel she is not getting the experience she requires. The drama school tends to use their older kids for featured parts in their productions so she always winds up in the ensemble and she can't go for children's parts elsewhere.
Any views
