Agency activity

Hello, I'm new to this site but it looks fantastic. I wanted to ask a question and am not sure if I'm asking in the right place so apologies if I'm not.

My dd is fairly new to this industry having been with an agent for 8 months. Prior to signing with our agent she had done a few amateur productions and once she was signed, although they never promise work I probably quite naively thought she would have had a decent amount of work by now however big or small but she has only had 1 audition and 1 job. I have now noticed that the auditions and submissions seem to have dried up not only for my dd but for others in the agency too.

Are other people with agents still having work coming in or is the industry just slow at the moment anyway?

I don't like to pester although I haven't contacted the agency before now unless I've needed to but should I contact the agency and if so what should I say????

Any help would be much appreciated.

its not unusual to have quiet spells - sometimes its just your dc hasn't met a briefing, but the agency has been submitting other agegroups for other jobs. My dds agent is very busy at the moment, and casting have been sporadic this year so far, not busy as such for her. However, the fact your dd has secured one job, will only serve to be beneficial for any more castings he may suit the brief even if others on their books do - I'd give them a ring and mention its been some months since any castings , reminding the agent of your dc and see what they say - it wouldn't be viewed as negative just to give a quick call at all. You won't be the first parent to just drop them a call I'm sure. Ensure all the height info etc they have is up to date on spotlight too, just to keep on top of it all yourself and ensure all info they have already submitted on spotlight is up to date.

If your DD is on spotlight, your agent can extract and email you a printout which shows exactly what action they have been taking on your DD's behalf. I asked for this as I didn't think DD was being put forward and I was happy with the information they sent me.
