Do I need licence

Hi, does anyone know if you always need a licence to film? Or can you film for a few days
If it's outside of school hours? Any help much appreciated

For the majority of the time you need a licence for filming whether it be after school or any time in fact. The three main rules are, if you are being paid, if anyone is paying to see the performance or if you have done three performances in a period of the last 6 months, then you need one.

If you google search "children in entertainment licence" and the name of your county you should find a site that covers your child, most will quote the three basic rules as reasons for needing a licence.
It's a pain but it is the law. Unfortunately there are many people in the industry that don't realise you need one, I would love to see it included in the Universities's teaching programmes, don't be surprised if you get blank looks from filmmakers when you mention one.
