Hello all, this is my first post so I hope it is in the right place - I am not usually an internet forum user, but my dd really wanted me to join this forum as it has been a great help to her finding out about some auditions.

I was wondering if I could have a little advice about Agents, as my dd is really eager to get an agent, and we have been sending off CVs and photographs since the end of 2009 and had no luck yet. Dd is 16, is this quite a difficult age to get started with an agent? She has no pro credits yet either which I am sure isn't helping. Could anyone please tell me which agencies their dd/ds's are with, and what they're like.

Also, does anyone have any experience with the Stagecoach Agency, as dd is now thinking of joining this one from September if she can't get into any others. I've heard that they aren't very good, but we are really running out of options!

I can't help with advice about specific agents, but just wanted to say that her age has probably been a problem, but it might be easier now she is 16. Can she get student film work to beef up her CV and experience?

I would tend to agree about Stagecoach; use them if you can't get another agent. But in this situation it might be worth using them to see if she can get some work, then move on to another agency as soon as her CV becomes more attractive.

I was looking at the cost of the Stagecoach agency workshop and spotlight fees etc this week and thinking ouch I know one child at our Stagecaoch only got £40 worth of work from them, so they made a loss. Someone else toured with Little Britain so I would guess they made a profit, and had something good for their CV

She has done one student film in the past, but wasn't keen to do any more as she didn't have a very good experience, so I think it really depends on the students you work with.

I think we will go with the Stagecoach agency for now, and then as you suggested, move to another agency once she has more on her CV. It seems to be the best way at the moment to get her foot in the door and get some experience so that a different (free!) agency will represent her.

That is interesting about someone touring with Little Britain, it seems to be mainly pot luck with the Stagecoach Agency, but I'm glad to know that people have got work through them, as we are definitely not keen to pay those fees for nothing. Thank you for all your comments
