Sound of Music Interesting Cast Change

Just read that
"Jason Donovan will take over as Captain von Trapp in the touring production of The Sound of Music from 29th January"
Not really sure I view Jason as old enough to play Captin VT but having seen him fairly recently in Priscilla the change of scenery will be interesting.
Can't wait for the first reviews.

I thought exactly the same when i read this. He doesnt seem old enough. Mind you- some of the people we've seen playing the captain have been sooo old that when he's kissed Maria-we've cringed

I think he would make a good Captain - he is 42 now and I have just seen him play the artillery man in War of the Worlds live on stage in which he was amazing!

I'm, quite excited, when I told Heather she was like who. Can't believe someone I LOVED when I was a teen is going to be hugging and picking up my daughter a few nights a week lol
