My DS has just finished shooting his first role for a well know production company. Comedy to be aired on Tv in the next couple of months. He wanted to e-mail the producer saying how much he enjoyed it, also asking for a copy, asking for the broadcast date and also saying how he enjoyed it and to keep him in mind for any future projects if he was suited. Is this the done thing or does this sound too pushy? I don't know how much weight the producer has in the casting process although she is a well known producer and was at his audition and call back?

We are new to this so any advice would be appreciated.

It depends if yr ds had a main role or if he was only there for a few days, if u got to know the producer very well over a few months then u could email him, prob would not ask about him using ds again feel its a bit pushy, I know if it was me would just leave it, but prob best to talk to yr sons agent about it. Getting a copy prob not as it is going to be on t.v so u can video it. The only time I got a copy of a drama for oldest ds he had been in a drama and we where moving house when 1 of the eps was being aired friend said she would record it for me but recorded the wrong side so got in touch with the BBC they sent a copy free, have heard that they have charged people £30 for a copy.

maybe not putting if he would keep your son in mind for other projects but i think sending a short email thanking him and saying how much he has enjoyed the experience won't hurt as it is common courtesy and you may find that the producer will be impressed by your sons politeness and that it will help him stick in the producers mind for future projects anyway (i have heard stories of it happening before!)
