Still think it's unfair that they don't offer dates at the end of the holidays as well. Some of us can only get away for cheap deals or stay free with family or for one week i.e. the same week they are offering auditions. Best of luck to the rest of you though.
I did wonder this too! And yes for us, we are not privately educated and picked an immediate holiday as it was cheaper. It was the only way to do it for us.

I just wondered, Is anyone's Agent applying for this on behalf of their clients? Or are the Agents cut out of this one????

I don't think this is paid work, is it? It's more like education/training. So, although I imagine agents would be delighted if their clients were selected, an agent wouldn't be involved in the application or agreement.

Even if it isn't paid, it's practically professional and you can randomly slip into conversation, 'Performed in the Globe Theatre'

Oh yes. I think it would be a fantastic thing to be involved in! It's just not the sort of thing an agent needs to have any involvement in regarding the "application".
You don't need an agent's influence or recommendation to be seen either - because the auditions are open.

I suppose there is a possibility that some agents might try to highlight a client's suitability - but if I were involved in the casting (which I'm not  ) - I would tell agents to "leave it to me, thanks, we are seeing everyone who registers". It looks to me as though they are reaching out as far as possible - and are not looking for represented clients in preference to unrepresented ones.

Agents make their money from commission on the money earned by their clients - and as there is no money involved here, there is no need for/likelihood of agent involvement. Agents would not make any financial gain from a client's involvement - and indeed a client who was cast in this would become "unavailable" for paid work over quite a long period - so there are pros and cons as far as an agent is concerned. On balance though I would expect agents to welcome the credit on their clients' CVs!

We are also on holiday during the audition period so can't attend the auditions either. I think a lot of people are away, but there will be plenty of other people to take the places.

I don't know what to do!
I just said I could come to the audition, now something has happened and I have to go to Ireland! I don't know what to do, do I say I can't come, or will that be ignored? Or do I just not turn up?!
Please help!

I would just send them an email and not worry too much about it Aspiring Actress :)

I imagine there will be quite a few no-shows anyway, but it's obviously better if you can make an attempt to let them know that you can't be there.

We just got an email. 'Time' = Thursday afternoon - registration from 2pm to 6pm, but auditions (which will last five minutes) may go on till 9pm. I've replied to say we won't be there as DS is in Billy Elliot, but very best of luck to anyone who does go for this.

We've just got an email inviting us toward end of July (28th) We have something in the diary, but I think i can get myself and my DS out of it - the rest of the family will have to go without us. We are abroad 2 days later so nearly missed this altogether . . . it's luck of the draw on this one i think, but worth going for if one can - such a great learning opportunity, but goodness knows how many young people they'll be looking at. And I agree with pg - a big sign reading 'NO AGENTS PLEASE' with this I imagine - it will be as fair and open an audition as you could hope for. :)
