Congrats Stageyails, what fantastic news! You can breathe a sigh of relief. What did your DD do last year?

We have performers on Monday & dd has now decided to apply to Millenium too
Have you considered Bodyworks Cambridge? Great place to study

Thank you so much soda - that is very kind of you. Keep me posted on your dds good news :D
Hi Soda, dd just heard she got an unconditional offer from GSA.This was her second year of trying- it seems they like them to have completed some sort of Foundation first, but I may be wrong. I guess it depends on individual.
Good luch for all your dd's future auditions and keep me posted :)
Hey great news!! so pleased for you and well done to your DD that is a brilliant achievement. So nice after supporting her through the foundation. Enjoy the celebration especially with that unconditional and thanks for sharing, it gives us a bit of hope!!

I think she would prefer to stay south or nearer to London

Fantastic news. Congratulations to your DD. A tremendous achievement.

I think that your comment about having done a Foundation year or similar is most likely true for the vast majority of successful applicants. When our DD was applying last year they were very clear at the open day that it was becoming more and more the case that very few applicants are successful at their first attempt.

I've heard this too at several open days.

Hello Stageyails

Well done to your daughter for getting into GSA, yours is the first post I have seen since I have have been on this forum to get a yes. It must be a great relief for you to now have everything sorted for September. What ever place our children are offered is such a great achievement whether it be Uni or a College. Congratulations to every one who has an offer. I know things have settled in our household since DD accepted her offer.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments! It is a relief for her- we have certainly learnt that you need nerves of steel in this profession. It is not an easy journey at times. She has had many rejections up until now- I guess this time her face fitted at GSA. I think it all depends on the type of ensemble they are looking to put together each year and what shows they have in mind to showcase 3 years from now. Every school is different. As I said before, we feel the foundation helped enormously- but realise this is not an option for everyone. I wish you all the very best with your DC. :)

soda wrote:That's wonderful news Stageyails, has she decided if she's going to accept it? Dd is doing the ArtsEd foundation, she'd really like to stay there but we won't know if she has an offer for a few weeks yet.
Hi Soda- she has 2 more auditions to go (Mountview and Bird- where she currently studies) and still waiting to hear from 2 places- PPA and Urdang (for degree). She will decide after that but I think it's going to be GSA. Best of luck for your dd's audition at Arts Ed. My dd has a friend there on the Excelerate Course who has his audition next week. Everything crossed for you- let me know! :D
