Hi I have said I would ask on here for friend of DD that might not get their full UCAS points from their current college course so is worried they might not be able to accept their first choice.....does anyone know how lenient are they regarding that? I have no idea! But thought someone on here may know.

I’ve heard that some schools have been flexible in the past if they really want the person auditioning. Either they’ll allow them onto a course if they are a little short on UCAS points or they will allow them to top these up with dance exam UCAS points at Intermediate levels and above. I hope she manages to get into the school she wants.

she definitely has the dance exams necessary if needs them and is allowed....I'm sure it'll be fine.

Heard today that Urdang do have a wait list too....as well as recalls! You don't hear until May or June though.

Yes that’s right. Once they’ve given the final results to the current recalls then those on the waitlist will have answers hopefully soon after.

Hello, my DD is trying to upload her videos for Urdang but they are too big. Has anyone here any tips on how she can condense them or any advice! She's been trying to do it for 2 days and its not working. She's not at home so I can't physically help her. Thanks!

How frustrating! Are these her 3 recall videos or the first stage audition videos? I remember when we were initially struggling to submit I called and spoke to Will in admin and he said as a last resort that they could accept the videos through another way eg Dropbox or something similar I believe. What we found was by setting her phone camera to 720 instead of 1080 HD it recorded the videos at a lower quality and a smaller file size. This made the files within the 150mb size.

As this is probably not an option there are various companies online where you can have them reduce a video file size. You would upload the video to their page and they would convert them to a smaller size. Some options are free, others ask you to pay. A simple google search should give her a few options. Hopefully someone else here may have even better ideas to help as I’m sure this is all really stressful for her. Good luck x

Thank you! This is her first stage videos! She has managed to upload her dance videos but they are saying 'error unknown error' underneath. I think if she is still struggling tomorrow I will get her to call and see if she can send them another way. Thanks for replying!

I use Format Factory. It's free to download and will convert audio or video to any other file types. I usually convert them to MP4 files.

Hi I’m fairly sure my daughter used an app to reduce her videos. It might have been called compress or something similar (as you can tell I’m not very good with these things and she’s left for college now so I can’t ask her the exact name). Hopefully Google will help you to find it. It worked fine for her.

I’ve heard it will take up to 3 weeks.

Yes we had to download an app to compress them smaller.

Yes we had to download an app to compress them smaller. It was just called 'VideoCompress' and was very easy to use.
