How did your DD get on? Was it the Acting Course she auditioned for? DS auditioned on 6th November and the letter arrived today, so once again a two week wait. He’s got a place, and a recall for a scholarship in March (keeping everything crossed, as we can’t afford full fees!). Much excitement here tonight, and a celebratory dinner round the kitchen table!

Many thanks lawn and justaphase. We did love the school and can imagine DS there. Wickednellie, hope your DD got good news too. It’s nail-biting waiting for news, don’t want to wish the next few months away (he needs all the revision time he can get for his GCSEs!) but a lot of stuff is up in the air until March. Really hoping he gets funding or he’ll be devastated, I’m thinking I really should have pursued a career in the City instead of third sector in the North East!

What are the qualifications you take at Tring on the acting course?

Hi lawn my DD went for MT audition and they offer A levels plus I think it's their own course,I am funnily enough going to call them today and ask the same question about MT,no mention of BTEC. We are waiting to hear the outcome .

Our understanding is there are no formal vocational qualifications on the acting course, no BTec. They just do A levels. The A levels were the main priority for us, as that leaves DS with more options post 18.

All 6th form students at TP can do a Btec in performing arts which is in place of an A level, but no extended Btec in place.
