Good luck to everyone this month I think it is going to be a busy month for us all with auditions xx

Good luck to you all....am thankfully off the audition process this year as dd1 decided to join a local Youth Company affiliated to one of the big drama schools and audition for work (disney audition next week).
Dd2 is very happy at Bird (1st year) so if anyone has any questions, will try to answer them

3rd year already! Wow, how time flies! Is your DD thinking about what she is planning on doing once she finishes in a few months time?

Yes it really has flown by..she got the Bodywork Scholarship for this last year so that has taken the pressure off immensely..lol..she teaches at Bodyworks at the weekends and some evenings, as well as at another part time school (she is a qualified tap, and modern jazz teacher too!) so that keeps her busy when she is not studying herself. She plans to audition for everything she can, from cruises to shows. She has loved every single moment of the Bodyworks journey and has made some lifelong friends along the way. We would wholeheartedly recommend it as a place to study as it is small, personal with a great family feel. Hard work though! xx

Well being poorly is a costly experience for auditioning. We have all had flu and DD not fully recovered. She had an audition coming up and the only way to change day was to re book and pay again...another £45. Might be worth thinking about for those booking next year, avoid cold and flu season! That one audition has now cost nearly £100

That is awful...you certainly should not have to pay for changing the audition date...
Hopefully they will reimburse you x

That's awful Robin64! Have you spoken to the college? Last year my friends Dd had to rescedual 4 auditions due to a nasty virus and the colleges were very underdtanding and she didn't have to pay again for any of them...wishing your DD a speedy recovery. Xxxx

Robin64 I have to say , I have never heard that before , it's definitely not common practice .

It is central and I called to say DD was not fully recovered after emailing and not hearing back and was told to rebook and pay again.

Might even be more than £45...we have paid for 4 now and forgotten how much each was but all were £45 or more.

My husband got flu on Christmas Eve, then son then DD, I have been less ill than them so far but I was really shocked when he said pay again - I think it is pretty unfair.

And poor DD has said this evening maybe she shouldn't audition at Central due to this extra cost. She is trying for Central, Bird, GSA and Urdang due to needing student loan and Arts Ed as an experience and an outside shot (winning lottery!) Feeling quite annoyed now!

DD1 didn't pay to get into her uni choice for art and we have had the financial strain of supporting her through the last couple of years of uni with huge rents, fees etc and inadequate maintenance loan and we are not even what you would call low income - just middle.

I would email someone higher up than who you spoke to and ask them to rethink. It doesn't seem fair as I am sure the audition slot will be taken by someone.

I would definitely call them back as it is very unfair. Hope you get somebody moreunderstanding to speak to. Xx

You should appeal without question. Also just check what their website says about postponement. Or in the email/letter they sent confirming the audition. You can understand not reimbursing if you cancel. Most are clear they will reschedule at no cost if illness is the cause.

We have been to open days (admittedly not Central) where they have actually said, if you are not well, reschedule, we want to see you at your best so I am surprised that you have been asked to pay again.

On another note, for anyone that has already applied to Performers, after sending your application could you please let me know if you received your audition date through the post or by email?
