Does the AVT provide a recognised qualification?
An Information site for the Parents of Performing Children

I believe it is worth 80/85 UCAS points ....so for example Performers and Urdang require 80 for degree, LSC 95 I think.
The only ones we know so far are very strong dancers....but can hold a tune. Do you know anyone that has had to wait much longer than the two weeks?anastasia79 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 9:46 amVery, very interesting. I’m wondering if the move to give straight offers to strong singers first is a strategic one. Mainly Urdang has been known for their dancing so they potentially lose out on the best singers to other colleges if they offer to dancers mainly at the start. By choosing the singers first they potentially increase the number of acceptances. Then by leaving the majority of the dancers to recalls, they then will have best of both. As lots of dancers who want to go to Urdang will hold out on making a decision on where to go until they’ve had an answer from them. Who knows?Grace03 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 9:33 am Urdang have openly said this year that they are looking for strong singers.
We know of 4 people who have a straight yes. 2 are true triple threat and 2 are brilliant singers with very little dance training.
All the dancers we know who applied either got a recall or a straight no.
I suppose it confirms that each of the colleges are looking for slightly different things
No. The longest I’ve heard of anyone waiting was 3 weeks.dancelifemum wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 11:08 amThe only ones we know so far are very strong dancers....but can hold a tune. she has checked the web site and it says if you haven't heard it likely on wait list and won't hear until May or June until all offers received back.anastasia79 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 6:22 pmYes, they should definitely contact them. Ahh, okay. It’s a little unfair that she wasn’t told that she was on the waitlist. To be waiting all this time without an answer is really hard. Fingers crossed once the recalls get their results she’ll hear something.dancelifemum wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 8:48 pmshe has checked the web site and it says if you haven't heard it likely on wait list and won't hear until May or June until all offers received back.anastasia79 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 6:22 pmYes, they should definitely contact them.
