Just received offer for degree at Bird after auditioning yesterday!
She’s got Urdang on Sunday and has an offer from Wilkes. She was also due to do Performers and LIPA but will cancel as Bird or Urdang are her top choices.
Good news for your dd too then! How do they get on the group chat?
Great, thank youDillydaffy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 12:01 pmSorry for delayed reply, my Dd has joined ‘Bird registry’ on facebook. Hmm - this is highly subjective and there are so many variables - ballet, musical theatre, general dance, contemporary, larger weighting towards dance/drama/singing. I will list a few (this is no way an exhaustive list and no doubt I’ll look back and realise I’ve missed some fabulous schools!) of the ones I personally think are top tier and in no particular order and some are more specialist in a particular field:Mydaughterdances wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 2:29 pm Hello
I was wondering if anyone could advise. I can’t find any league type tables for the dance colleges offering Trinity Diplomas, I briefly know of some colleges reputations but DDs teacher doesn’t have enough experience to be able to advise and has kept out of the process as never had a student go on to dance college before.
DD has applied for a variety of colleges offering the level 6 Trinity Diploma and I wondered if anyone could advise the standard, even if just putting them into 3 groups, top middle bottom etc to give an indication of where to send DD should she be lucky enough to be accepted.
I appreciate this could come across as controversial and that is not my intention I am just genuinely quite oblivious and want to be able to guide DD.
Many thanks a bewildered Father.
This is a very oversimplified answer but a possible first step would be to see if they offer dada funding. If they do it’s is a good sign that they are considered to be a reputable course. If the answer is no then it might be worth considering why not. I’m not saying it’s necessarily a bad thing but worth looking into further.Mydaughterdances wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 2:29 pm Hello

Have a look at
https://www.balletcoforum.com/ if inclining towards more dance/ MT and also CDMT website which has up to date non biased information - everyone will have their own opinion!
Asking for a list isn't enough to make a decision - there are lots of changes now, Urdang isn't doing a diploma, Performers has just started offering one.
Research who offers DADAs Tring I believe has got their's back after 3 years of not being able to offer them.
Also, all places now need to offer equal training as they need their students to be as skilled as possible to get work ,we were told this at CDMT conference at Mountview 2/3 years ago.
Mine is at GSA (degree) and it's a big myth that they do less dance.

My DD was in a similar position last year. She applied as a strong singer and could act and dance a bit. In the end she got offered a foundation year at Conti (her only recall) but decided to take a gap year and develop more as a rounded performer before heading off to drama school.Elle’smom wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 2:42 pm Has anyone else got a more actor singer applying?
She got rejected from Urdang (not sad just not there to make up the numbers), rejected from Mountview (unsurprising she looks very young despite being 18 she still meets casting criteria for school of rock). She has a callback at Conti at the end of the week, waiting to hear from Royal Welsh.
Final has Royal Scottish and Central uploads to go and PPA is attending her college in early Fen for an audition day.
