I applied directly and no audition :( applying directly has worked in the past but I'm now thinking that I should get dd an agent? Are they expensive?

funnily enough we are the opposite, didn't get asked to audition for the tour with agent, did it independently this time. But it could be to do with other factors eg.dd now a little bit older and may suit a particular character and height more than last time.

Agents shouldn't charge you anything upfront (be dubious of the ones who do). They usually work on commission only

Thanks for the replies. Daughter is 151 cm so that might be the reason.

Our agent charges a percentage of any fees received. The real cost is taking your child to castings etc so lots of train fares!

I think it's great casting directors will see kids who don't have representation. Otherwise they just end up seeing the same kids!

Congratulations dws! Do let us know how she gets on! Straight after reading your post I got a text message. My heart skipped a beat at the thought it could be our agent, unfortunately it was papa johns with a 2 for 1 pizza offer...
