Re: Agents and Drama School
An agency may not consider taking you on at the moment because some of the top schools do not let you do anything outside the course until you have finished the course (even in the holidays)!

This is true of many places especially the first 2 years.

DD & I hoped that DD would be able to do something this summer before starting in September
But realistically her chances are slim
So she is applying for the same great job she had last summer & loved, has volunteered to work in the family business & is planning on learning to drive
But I am videoing her this half-term to put a new showreel together......just in case I see something on here

even during holidays? woah.
Yes I thought it might be like that, oh well hopefully I will get signed by a good agency at some point in my third year

Re: Agents and Drama School
Congrats! Where's your offer from? I was asked at a few drama school auditions if I was rep'd, it was all viewed very positively so I wouldn't be totally put off, all depends on the agent/your casting type etc.
Re: Agents and Drama School
..... and some schools have their own agency anyway.
Re: Agents and Drama School
I know RADA, Central , Guildhall and BOV (generally regarded as top tier) don't allow it.

Arts Ed don't allow it either. In fact, they won't even let you sign with an agent until after Showcase which is April of the final year. DS did have a few jobs during the holidays which he got through college including handing over the Olivier awards so there are still opportunities.
All new to me!

Congratulations on your place
Re: Agents and Drama School
Hello everyone, does anyone know how long it takes for Drama Centre to offer places after the final whole day recall? my DS got the final recall and completed it last saturday. Rejections seem to come faster than acceptance I just wondered if anyone knew how long it would be from this particular school? Thanks : -)
