Does anyone know if there are more auditions this week for rounds 1 or 2?

They're still asking for new submissions, bit like Cinderella, they'll not stop till they've seen every 9-12 year old in the land!!

My dd's agent said the brief has altered. Maybe that's why?!

Wish they'd see my DD if the brief has changed - she's no tomboy but is only 4 foot 8 inches,12 years old but passes for 10/11, has freckles, long golden blonde hair and wears glasses for reading & school work. Asked agent to submit so fingers crossed. :?

My DD is 12' 4'7'', long blonde hair and freckles too....hasn't been seen. Do we just wait around until, like you say, they have seen all of the 9-12 year old girls?

No sorry didn't say how the brief had changed. I got the impression they had a specific look to begin with, then changed to quite broad criteria at and now (hopefully) they are beginning to narrow it down? Do you think the casting directors get paid by numbers ie for each girl they see  ?

I see they are still looking with a casting breakdown sent out to youth theatres only a few days ago asking for suitable submissions with a deadline of 21 November. Was everyone who got an audition here submitted by their agent or did some go direct to the CD? And do you all live close to London? How long did you wait between your child being submitted and them contacting you? Sorry for all the questions! Thanks in advance.

We were contacted by Spotlight (no agent at the moment) who said the CD had asked them to pass on her details to us, and for us to contact the CD re the role of Sophie. I did so and was then sent several pages of script and asked to produce a self tape (dd has never done one before, so a bit of pressure there!). About a week and a half later I emailed to check she had received the clips. She said she thought dd was too mature (12 years old) but that she was still in the mix. I think that's probably a nice way of saying no, but not entirely sure!

Ps we live approx 20 min commute into London.

Hi sweets - tHats nice to know that you can get contacted without an agent and great to have feedback from the CD.

I think as they wrote to you personally that she must still be in the mix, otherwise they could have just given you an outright 'no' by email.

Yes Catkat, and to think I nearly chose not to renew Spotlight as I thought no one would contact us without an agent!! All the uncertainty around these audition processes is very prematurely ageing  but I shall try to remain optimistic.

Thanks for your comments.

I didn't know you could join Spotlight without an agent but I am new to all of this. My daughter's agent just joined her up to Spotlight but hasn't shown us any details like which photo they've used and we have no access to her page. Does that sound right?

I also thought that as a child you couldn't be on Spotlight without an agent. Maybe you can stay on if you had an agent when you joined.

Yes, you need (and dd had) an agent to get into Spotlight. I too thought you couldn't remain without an agent and queried this when I received the renewal form. They said once in you don't need an agent but if you leave you can't rejoin without an agent.

Caroline72 - I think we had to wait a few weeks after joining the agent before we received the Spotlight login details. I think the deadline for submissions/renewal is around now, so hopefully you won't have to wait too much longer.
