Hi, does anyone know anyone who goes to any of these colleges? DD is auditioning and we have not visited them before or heard much about them.

Any info much appreciated.

Millennium: Diploma - DaDA, in Woolwich. DD did a workshop/course there & loved it; run a nice Open Day with loads of info. Really like the attitude of the guy in charge & DD has an offer from there

Masters: Don't know much, but I drove past it yesterday. No DaDA

LSC: Uni type course - degree; paid for by Student loans (not sure if it's all paid for by the loads or if you can get a bursary for the bit that isn't paid for by a loan) DD is at their associates and LOVES it. Finchley - fairly easy to get to. Run a nice Open Day with loads of info.

The Centre: DD's dance teacher rates the teachers very highly, I think it's difficult to get to by public transport but it sounds fab. No DaDA

All my own impressions - nothing is fact; sorry!

Thanks Katymac, very informative. I am on tenderhooks waiting and hoping she gets an offer of somewhere she really wants to go (with funding) or the option to go down the student finance route.

I believe Masters can offer funding to potentially strong candidates. Is your DD going to audition there, I think it is strongly danced based and has an excellent reputation.

It is great that your DD has been offered so many options! Proof of all her hard work and committment!

Well she has 2 level 6 offers & is too young for degrees

I'm dreading the decision making process......we didn't audition anywhere she couldn't get a DaDA as we worried too much about funding. If she does it again next year I might make different decisions. But if she could get a DaDA it would leave a scholarship in the pot for someone on a more middle income (iyswim) but if she doesn't this year I stop being quite so altruistic ;)

I know the people from Masters - and quite like what they do. The only downside is really the location - it's a very dull part of the country from my time in the area. My production company use them because of the standard of dance, and the admin side is efficient.

DD heard today, offers from both Millenium and The Centre, awaiting the outcome of London Studio audition from last Saturday. Masters isn't for another month.

Yaaaaahhhh, she is starting to see positive results of her hard work on her foundation course this year. :)

She loved both audition days, the Centre offer says her offer is for an assisted place and she is asked to go for a 2nd audition to determine the amount of assistance they will offer. The Millenium offer says she will be informed if she has been successful in gaining a DaDa, I guess this is only after she registers though. It wasn't clear as to when, does anyone else know when, I assume it is once they have completed all audition dates.

For info, the Head of Musical Theatre at The Centre was until 2 years ago the Head of MT at Urdang before moving to The Centre. FYI for anyone consider colleges to apply next year but could rule out as it isn't one that we hear much about (at least I didn't, but DD college 'head of year' studied there and speaks highly of this college, only take 35 students each year)
