Crikey, I didn't think anyone would get that! Well done all of you.
I used to be fascinated by the credits coming in from the top, bottom and sides. I always tried to guess where they would come from next, but never got it right. I suppose it set a tone for the rest of my life!

Re: Advice needed!!!!
jollyjelly, I can no longer admit to not being old enough - not now I'm going to be a granny!
I remember the excitement of getting our first colour TVbefore that we went to my aunts who had a screen in front of her TV that had blue, red and green stripes across it to make things appear coloured. They obviously made a lot of programmes that had mainly sky, people and grass in!
This excitement was only surpassed by getting a telephone in the house!!

Congratulations Francesca's Mum - what an exciting time.
Re: Advice needed!!!!
Loved that I started those theme tunes. You all got me giggling! What about when we were kids we used to watch Hammer House of Horror on a black and white telly and I was terrified by the blood down the walls! (in black and white!)
Also loved watching the snooker with the family and remember the commentator saying "if you don't know which one the pink is, its next to the blue one"!!!
I still giggle at that too

For a long time, my girls believed that everything was black and white when I was little. Everything...not just the telly!
When my OH played a vinyl record to them they ran away screaming 'make it stop, daddy!!!' because of all the pops and crackles and the weird mechanics required to play it.
Even though we now have a gazillion channels, and on-demand everything, it's amazing how often we can't find anything to watch.

You'll be glad you did.

Sadly I haven't watched Telly for about 8 months, since we redecorated our kitchen and I had to take the aerial cable out, I just never put it all back, and really haven't missed it at all... The tv's just been confined to the loft (get's an occasional weekend outing though to watch the odd film. (that's occasional film, not odd as in 'odd')
