Agency Help

Post by newmummytothearts »

Hi Would anyone be able to help me? My DD was accepted by an agency at the end of October and we have not heard anything at all. Is this normal to have to wait months to hear about auditions/castings? Or is there a "quiet " time of year? Thanks

Hello, I know what you mean, I also ask myself this question when my daughter hasn't heard anything for a while - especially because with her previous agency she was having castings all the time (which was too much!). You can't win!! I solve this now by ringing in - not all the time as I don't wish to be an irritation - but just enough to stay in touch because as parents we obviously care. I also think it is important to have some sort of growing, professional relationship with an agency since, good ones, will be forging contacts on behalf of your children. So I'd call them if I were you and ask - it could be as simple as nothing is in at the moment that is on brief for your child. It is a waiting game, isn't it. The other thing is to get your DD immersed in everything else - they do so much, their youth drama, plays, dancing whatever else - that waiting for castings and auditions to come along isn't the main focus. But panto or a NYT audition is. So yes, that's a very long winded way of saying I do think it is normal - but it is definitely worth a chat with your agency.

Hi - how old is your DD as well? My DS1 is 13 and suddenly from June until now he has shot up to 5ft 8" so he is now too tall for 12-14 year old roles and to young looking for 15-17 so he has gone from being quite busy with esp computer game jobs to only a couple of castings in the last few months :( Need to find sitting down jobs where his big feet dont show

Did you check out agency before joining as sadly there are some scams out there :(
