Casting Director at the RSC

Post by pg »

I thought this interview might be of interest to some.

(Hannah Miller- head of casting at the RSC - on casting the current ensemble).

Thanks for posting pg. Very interesting.

Was your ds one of the ones who was cast in January who only had a few weeks before rehearsals started?

Yes, he auditioned shortly before Christmas if I remember correctly. He found out in January that he would be in the ensemble. I went to Stratford on his birthday to see him perform in Cardenio - it was excellent. I'm hoping to go and see him in the understudy run (playing Cardenio :D ) later this month. All very exciting! The second production he's involved in (City Madam) starts on Thursday. I'm not sure when he starts rehearsals for the third (Midsummer Night's Dream). It should be a fantastic year for him.

I'm very proud of him, and a little bit jealous!

Pg if it were my ds I would be broke from buying tickets. What a lovely range of performances you must have to chose from to go to see him. You deserve to be proud =D> =D> =D>
