I'm the same and we haven't auditioned either, my eldest dd got told she was accepted on the day she did her audition with A & J, who tend to audition once a month, which surely is a better was of doing things as you don't miss talent that might have to wait 6 months to be seen in the first place!

i think its an endurance test, they want to make sure the parents have enough stamina to cope with the waiting and not knowing before they take the children on!!!! if we make it through this with our sanity intact i think we could cope with anything!

Think Abacus only do work shops because they are a very small agency and don’t want to take on too many children they only have 170 and that is with young adults and adult agency being small they no there clients they do not take on lots of children as Casualty and quite a few programs are made in Bristol Manchester they do look for kids who live not too far from there as well and kids who live close to London, boys who are good are more likely to get in as not as many boys as girl audition, people who are good and are 16 and over are more likely to get in as they do not need a licence so get more work. They do not need to audition every month they feel 6 monthly is enough if you look at there breaking news there children are in a lot of good TV Film and adverts. My ds is 13 5ft 1in tall I no that he will not be called as much as he was last year as when he was 13 and only 4ft 9in tall I accept this as the older they get the harder it is. I no that ds is only put up for things he is suitable for so will not have to run up to London for things he has no chance of getting, I no that some other agents he would get more auditions but prob lots he would not have a chance of getting I feel its the quality not the quantity that matters.

Thanks irish dancer, thats helpfull. it is a shame that boys seem to get in easier as the girls in my experiance work really hard at their dreams, although i know that is the case with boys. we live north east so wonder whether worth applying. O:)

Wondering if us frantic Abacus mums crashed the server?! Anyway, thank goodness we are back as I'm thrilled to report my DD got in so I will be needing loads of guidance from here! \:D/ Hope it was good news for other NAPMs who were waiting and that all went well for the ones who went to the second round of auditions.

Helloooo again everyone ! Congratulations to everyone who's got in ! We took our dd up for her audition last saturday afternoon (26th) and we're haven't heard anything yet unfortunately. I think perhaps we would have heard by now if she was going to get in. On the positive side though, my dd really enjoyed it and said she met some really nice and amazingly talented performers ! She said that unlike some auditions she's been too over the years, every one was reaaally good! I noticed how sweet all the kids were, as they were being so supportive of each other while they were waiting to do their individual piece, wishing each other good luck and reassuring those still waiting when they came out. What a super lot of kids, I thought, and I spoke to some really nice parents too ! I hope we won't have to wait too long now before we hear !!
