Dd offered part in short film need advice please
Hi all, Dd has been offered a part in a short film. We are very excited, but haven't done this before. Would appreciate any advice/experiences good and bad. I have done my research, he's a genuine director, I am thinking more about the legal aspect of it - contract, licence etc. I know I need a licence, Gp letter. Not sure about letter from school, filming it's scheduled on Good Friday weekend. Does that mean I don't need one? What else should i know? I emailed the director with all these questions, hope he'll get back to me soon. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Be prepared to know more than the director in terms of licences! You can always check with your LEA exactly what is required.

That's a good idea, never thought of it. Thanks pg.

If it is one day filming outside school time and not payed, I think you can do it without licence. At least it is what is said on my LEA website.

Less than 3 days, unpaid, out of school hours, not intended for broadcast- no need for licence
Still needs minor actor release and chaperone
(Tyneside LEA, other LEAs may vary)
