Son has been recommended this online casting agency - does anyone know much about them? We havnt checked the cost yet but he thinks its much the same as companies like Starnow

Re: Angel Stages
Not worth it I shouldn't think. I doubt that there will be anything different from Starnow and I think it is very unlikely to be used for any mainstream casting.
I really don't like the fact that I can't find out how much it costs before registering. It isn't even stated in the terms and conditions. In my view this is decidedly dodgy business practice.
I dislike the fact that there is no name, address or contact telephone number. Why not? What if I wanted to call them (as a casting director) to discuss my casting requirements? I notice that they have toned down all the "Want to be a star?" stuff, which is a good thing but it still wouldn't prompt me to pay them any money. In my opinion ANY casting information site which has no selection procedure and which allows people with no training or experience to make their own, unvetted submissions, is not very likely to be used by people with real paying jobs to offer - except possibly for jobs paid at less than industry rates where the employers hope to find unrepresented "cheap" options or some cattle market style commercial castings (and these jobs are also likely to appear on other casting information sites since the employers will want to cast their net as wide as possible). If you take a look at the "talent", you'll see a lot of glamour-type shots and a few that look like holiday snaps (as well as some good, professional-looking shots). I wouldn't go to a site like this to try to find actors. Perhaps if they had some verifiable testimonials from casting directors rather than actors (then I could ring the casting director and double check the information) this would be helpful.
A google search does throw up a few question marks...

Re: Angel Stages
Thankyou PG - had a feeling it rung some bells from the distance past ("Want to be a star?")
