I would prefer a chaperone that may not be all fluffy and lovely but would stick up of the child if the theatre asked too much of them, rather an one who is lovely and lets the company manger walk all over them. That said, our kids go into theatre for a positive experience because they want to perform, they should not come out in tears because the chaperone has been unduly unkind to them.

I'm pretty certain many know the show you refer to.

I think it is totally unacceptable for any chaperone to treat children horribly there job is for the welfare of the children there are no excuses

But that's how it is, parents will never grumble because they are grateful to be there, and woe-betide any that do.
