Great topic for discussion but can't help - I avoid them like the plague.

I do recall there being an episode of gypsy weddings where there was a UK pageant, but not sure who runs them in the UK.

Star Now also tries to recruit for them, so perhaps some of the organisers might also have something interesting to say.

Best of luck with it ! Xx

Why is everything to do with performing always wanting to show the negative side as you said in your original post?

Everything to do with performing, or everything to do with getting there?

Most of the performing parents are the nicest people you could choose to meet, the negative ones tend to be the competitive ones.

I mean any time a journalisit wants to discuss children performing as they do here on this topic. it's always the negative side.

That's nothing to do with performing, that's journalists for you.

Look at the Daily Mail article about how children are exploited in theatre, they only picked up on the fact a kid get's a certain amount per week in relation to the adults, yet failed to recognise the other expenses the theatre fork out such as travel, chaperones (they have a lot of the per show), meals, tutors, licences, children manager and sometimes a house for the kids to live in, then on top of that principle characters need a standby child and rotate in 2 or 3 teams. The theatre's seen as the tight wad but do the maths and the kids absorb a lot more money than an adult - But include all the facts and they don't get as much of an interesting story.

As student, and correct me if I'm wrong, dissertations have to be critically analysed and discussed. The dissertation could not just be based on "the negative side" it would have to be balanced. So maybe April already has positives? I'm hoping that is the case with this post?

For the record I have never had anything to do with beauty pageants. Good luck with the work, I know how hard it is doing a degree!
